Announcement of Retirement: Executive Director Shari Sherman
The Warrick County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces the retirement of Executive Director, Shari Sherman. Ms. Sherman has dedicated the last 16 and a half years to serving as the Chamber’s leader, guiding its growth and development with unwavering commitment.
Growth and Achievements Under Ms. Sherman's Leadership
Throughout her tenure, the Chamber has experienced significant growth, notably increased its membership and expanded its range of services. Ms. Sherman has prioritized providing valuable training opportunities, fostering networking events, and establishing strong connections among businesses and government entities.
Groundbreaking ceremonies and ribbon-cutting events throughout Warrick County have marked the Chamber’s continued expansion, with Ms. Sherman and her team consistently supporting local businesses at every stage. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving the Chamber’s success and strengthening its role within the community.
Warrick Chamber has been instrumental in promoting tourism in Warrick County. After several years the Chamber was able to see the Innkeeper Tax implemented in Warrick County and the formation of Visit Warrick a non-profit to promote Warrick County tourism, events and sites. The tourism board recently hired a full-time director.
One of the Chamber’s notable achievements has been its collaboration with seven other area Chambers to launch the Regional Women’s Conference Event. The sixth annual event is currently underway, reflecting the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to regional partnership and professional development.
Transition and Next Steps
The Board of Directors will soon begin the search for a new Executive Director to fill the position. During this transition, Ms. Sherman will remain in her role, assisting in onboarding and ensuring a smooth process as the new staff member becomes acclimated.
The Chamber extends its heartfelt gratitude to Shari Sherman for her years of dedicated service and wishes her the very best in her future adventures in retirement.
